Yuyu: Cinderella’s
mother died when she was a very little child. Cinderella’s father had been
married twice, and her mother was his second wife. Cinderella lived with
her step-sisters but they did not love her. They made
her work as a servant. When Cinderella was seventeen years old, the King gave
a ball to all ladies of the
country.
Eunice: Cinderella’s
step sisters didn’t take her to the party. She cried sadly.
Suddenly a good old fairy called to her. “Do not cry, Cinderella,” she said,
“you can go to the ball because you are kind and good.” Then two mice were
turned into footmen and four grasshoppers were turned into white horses. Cinderella’s old
shoes became a charming pair of glass slippers which shone like diamonds.
Yuyu: The
old fairy reminded Cinderella to leave before the clock strikes twelve. Otherwise,
everything would return to their original rags. Cinderella went to the palace. She
was so beautiful that everybody looked at her and wondered who she was. The
Prince asked her to dance with him. It was twelve and Cinderella left. The
Prince could not find her. But she left her beautiful glass slipper.
Eunice: The
Prince loved Cinderella so much and he wanted to marry her. He said if the lady
in his kingdom could put on the glass slipper, she should be his wife. All the
great ladies tried to put it on, but in vain. Cinderella’s sisters tried, but she
could not get it on. Cinderella went with her sisters in her poor dress, and at
once she could put on the slipper. The Prince was delighted. Cinderella married
to the Prince and they lived together very happily. She forgave her sisters,
and treated them always very kindly.
Yuyu & Eunice: Hope you will enjoy reading this book - Cinderella
as much as we do! Thank you! Goodbye!
