Title: CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY
Publisher: Penguins
It is a very touching story. The main character is Charlie. He is a primary student who comes from a poor family. His father has a low-paid job and his mother must look after Charlie’s four grandparents who live with Charlie. The grandparents are old and three of them are seriously ill.
Charlie wants to join a popular competition held by a famous chocolate maker. He offers 5 golden tickets and hides them underneath the ordinary wrapping paper of five bars of chocolate. The five lucky finders of these five golden tickets can go on a holiday to see how the factory makes all the famous chocolate. And they will have the chance to eat a lot of chocolate and taste all the factory’s sweets.
But Charlie can’t join the competition because his parents can’t afford to give him any pocket money to get a ticket.
Luckily, Charlie finds a winning ticket --- how can he find it? Read the book and you will know the answer. And the book tells you about Charlie’s adventure of going to the chocolate factory. He meets the other winners and he learns how important it is to do as you are told and not to be greedy.
